You'd probably know them from the memes or if you have played the game over the years. Nonetheless, this movie is based on the game alongside previous movies, Mortal Kombat (1995) and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997). It is highly anticipated considering the gap from its previous releases and not to mention the technological advancement that could possibly pull off realistic supernatural stunts.

If you haven't watched the trailer, it begins with the protagonist (Cole Young) showing a Mortal Kombat ‘birthmark’ which actually means he is chosen to participate in an ancient battle. The rest of the trailer also showcases different characters in the game. Near the end of the trailer, we get to see a clip of them fighting where Scorpion says the infamous line, ‘GET OVER HERE’ while hooking Subzero by the chest and pulling him close.

This movie is set to release on 16th of April and is R rated, which is necessary for all the violence and goring scenes that it contains. What do you think? Will you watch it in theaters?
